The Role

A PHP,  HTML5, CSS3 and Java Whizz!, with experience of Magento & WordPress content management systems. You’ll be used to taking designs and building them into HTML5 web pages, incorporating them into content management systems – and writing/editing the related back-end PHP code.

We require a multi-skilled PHP / HTML and CSS expert, capable of taking design concepts and translating them into standards-friendly code utilising current web technologies.

Dedicated to producing high-quality and elegant web solutions, you should be able to show us sites you’ve built that will dazzle us with your cutting-edge front-end and back-end development skills You’ll be liaising with design, marketing and client side, so must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience Required

Experience designing and building websites using standards-compliant HTML5 and CSS, with a portfolio of live examples of websites previously built or worked upon.  Experience building websites in a digital agency are desirable but, if not in an agency environment, then in a role where the development of multiple websites is the primary part of your role.  A demonstrable number of live websites that you have built is essential – and you should include links to these within your application.

Skills & Expertise

  • Competence with PHP and MySQL
  • At least 3 years experience in a similar role
  • HTML5 and CSS3 and ideally CSS pre-processors (e.g. LESS)
  • JavaScript and JavaScript-related frameworks (e.g. JQuery)
  • WordPress CMS and Magento e-commerce CMS preferred
  • Experience with any other content management systems would also be beneficial
  • An understanding of the technicalities of web server hosting – including Linux / Apache
  • Experience with version control systems
  • Integration of external services

Package Details:

  • Salary negotiable according to experience
  • 20 days holiday pa (Plus bank holidays)
